I think probably around 4 mos..and like i said in PM I would probably, knowing me LOl confront the breeder with a wth? The more you have seen him the more you think he's older than she said. Is there any possibility you got the dates wrong?

Not that it matters in the big scheme of things. he is still YOUR BABY Kim and yes you will bond with him and he will be a friendly outgoing lil monster that sticks to you like glue.
I just know it! Put those patience and knowledge you have developed to work. And since he did come from a breeder I think he will be easier just for the fact he hasn't been tossed around and shipped from pet store to pet store..and has probably been handles NICELY not cruelly or roughly.

It's all good Kim. he's a keeper and a beautiful one at that smile

Now...start workin on a name! lol

well i think that vote was unamimous lol...said the same thing basically almost verbatim...the tail wag is just another way to relax like stretching he is a tail wagger lol...cappy is a wing stretcher and a once in a while sudden brrrrr shake all over bird but does that after preening which your tail wagger is maybe doing also after it preens...

if you got the room in the cage for a bowl of water and some greens in it see if he wants a bath i think that maybe really on his mind too

and excellent advice too in the other thread that both you and kksuns gave about the gymnastic keet giggle...

anyway dont know if you picked up your other two emails yet kim but i know you will just dont fall asleep tonight on your keyboard again lol...

Thanks kk and Illusive! I'm probably gonna bite my tongue on this one because I don't want to call her a "liar". Even though it's obvious, she did lie.

Oh my goodness! I just think I may have came up with some names to choose from...Conway as in Conway Twitty.

I was thinking about how he escaped today and I thought of my favorite show from a while back, "Prison Break", the lead character was Michael Scofield who was innocent as all get out who was played by the gorgeous Wentworth Miller....what about Wentworth? And I absolutely love the movie, "Shawshank Redemption." What about Shawshank? Too much of a tongue twister....still thinking. Or Alcatrez? HA HA! Too cute.

And then there's "Aldean" as in Jason Aldean. I absolutely love him to death but I don't know if I could keep a straight face when asking my husband to name him that. LOL

Then there's Tot! It's a synonym for a toddler and I keep referring to him as a toddler.

Who the heck knows what I'll end up naming him...

i dont see it as calling her a liar but pointing out you realize its not a baby thats 10weeks old and she needs to make corrections to her logs...becuz ..and mention ...the obvious reasons its no baby...it flies very well and not one bit clumsy like a baby...is more meaty and filled out wider than a baby...and then there is the stripes issue...allllll things im CERTAIN she knew but it gives the opportunity to let her know ...her practices are not on the up an up and not everybody is naive...soooo you can say all this without calling her a liar but giving her a heads up for when the next person comes calling to give them a degree of intelligence and not try to put one over on them

myself im a FIRM believer if you let someone go on thinking they got away with a lie it just promotes more of the same

id also mention how she told you just the nite before she had new fledglings and then when you got there she said she didnt ...as a breeder you would think she knows

I wish I had the guts to call her...but I think I'm gonna leave well enough alone.

She got one over on me and that's fine because now this toddler has someone who will love it regardless.

Thanks ya'll.

Will try to have a name picked out by tomorrow evening!

Goodnight all! Will tty in the am!

The more I thought about it, the more madder I got! I'm afraid if I call her, I may get really pissed if she tries to tell me that "I don't know what I'm talking about" so I decided to email her.....Should I send it? Is there anything I need to reword or say differently? Here's a copy! Waiting on a response for someone before I send it.

"I bought a young male keet from you yesterday. I just want to see if you could verify his age for me again.

Now that I've had him for a day, I've had a lot more time to observe him.

He seems to be a bit older than what I thought. First, he seems to be a pretty good flyer showing no clumsiness at all. His bars on his head don't start close to his cere. Then there's the broader chest. He is the size of my 6 month old parakeet. Another thing, his claws are very long. And his bite hurts worse than most babies would.

I'm not saying that you intentionally told me a wrong age but maybe you made a mistake.
I had my heart set on a young one and I feel like I was misinformed.

I plan on keeping him either way but I really would like to know his true age.

Thank you for your time."
