cuttlebones are for calcium where these perches are basically for grooming...and you shouldnt have too many in a cage as their feet may get very sore.

Any suggestions on how to get my birds to use their cuttle bone?

place it at the very end of a perch...make sure its not the flavored kind ..and if they are not using it as yet maybe they are not needing it ..a unflavored mineral block is even more important if you dont have one i suggest picking one up and doing the same by placing it at the very end of a perch...best spot is near their water source

your welcome carol and they trim down should you need to...i dont know what length you bought just wanted to let ya know as i myself dont trim i just angle or kitty corner...however, another nice thing about these is...when one side gets worn (top of perch) just rotate them and your good for another 6-8 months...so they last pretty good...makes a good investment...i use TWO in my cages at a time but no more than that as then it gets a bit rough for their feet...

i think you and the birds will like them very much...remember to have one angled UPHILL so they can LEAN into them and really get a good rub...
