Hello!
I don't know who started this or why but I have been seeing a lot of misinformation about the name Tito being a Hawaiian name and it's just not true.
I grew up in Hawaii and had to learn the Hawaiian language from early grade school and there is NO letter T in the Hawaiian language.
I am sorry for any disappointment. There are only 12 letters in the entire language. The letters in the Hawaiian language are:
The 5 vowels A E I O U,
6 consonants: H K L M N P W
The name for boy in Hawaiian is a two part name:
Kane-Keiki
Kane - prounounce (con-eh) means man
Keiki - pronounced (kay-key) means child.
So Kane -Keiki means man-child
I have also seen a wrong interpretation of the name KAHUNA which actually means Native Priest, etc.
A cute name in Hawaiian is Kimo which actually is the name James.
Just FYI
THANKS.
