Hi, I am in a heart renching situation!! I rescued a keet 2 ago, long story! His name is Sparky. He stole my heart & I
cannot provide what he needs. I am a single Mom on SSDI & I am the middle of moving. Stress! He has a tumor on his leg. I took him to the vet. ( $ I do not have). He needs surgery. $235. I cannot pay this. He now has been picking at it and now bleeding! I dnt know what to do? I cant stand to see this! I love him! Any info on resource is awesome!

This morning there is more bleeding! Anyone know of a parakeet rescue? Seattle area. I dont want him to die from blood lose. I am heartbroken! I am in the middle of a move and do not even have enough $ for my rental deposits. I cannot provide what he needs! Help!

I would get on the internet and look for a rescue that way. There has to be one in the Seattle area. In the meantime call a local vet, see what they think. At the very least try to stop the bleeding with some of that Kwickstop.

Use corn starch. If you put it on the wound if will stop the blood. All you do is get the starch and pad it gently on the wound eventually the bleeding will stop. Corn starch is an everyday cooking ingredient you buy at the stop cheep. GOOD luck And keep this updated.

that at best is only a temporary fix as the bird will continue to keep doing this...a AVIAN VET must be seen and when a bird gets tumors the outcome is not necessarily a good one.
