I have a female parakeet & her behavior has changed. Today she keeps falling asleep in her food bowl. I am wondering if she may be prego or maybe sick. When she falls asleep, her hind end is up & her feathers are fluffed. She has never done this before. I am a little worried.

take her to a avian and i specify AVIAN vet./// and dont delay...thats not much for anyone here to go on to speculate what maybe going on and by the time you get a response in here GUESSING your bird could be dead so dont waste time go to where and the people who can tell you whats going on...and not waste time about it and thats not here in this forum...anytime birds act off its not usually like you got a week or so to figure it out as they have already been sick a long time and just hid it.

this is a heck of a way to join a forum and we welcome you but your wasting what could be very valuable time here when you should be packing up your bird to go to a AVIAN vet for test.

How is she doing Rebecca? Have you taken her to Avian vet yet?
If not, it is crucial you get her checked out before it's too late
They do hide their illness for as long as they can. So by the time you actually notice something is off they are usually already very sick indeed. Please seek medical attention

i wish this person would get back to forum to let us all know what is happening and if they got the bird to a AVIAN vet.
