He doesn't seem to be as scared now so he doesn't fly away from me and is a
Bit more calm. And no, I have not been hand feeding him. He eats his seed mix by himself.

Hi Roy, Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new little friend.
Does s/he have a name yet? Any idea how old he might be? For instance does he still have bars(stripes) on his forehead going down to his cere?
Heed the advice of the above posters especially about keeping him out of drafts, be they warm or cold drafts, and farther away from the kitchen would be better. They really do like to be around people, they are social creatures, so if he can be where your family hangs out, say in the living room? that would be nice.
Also the point about non stick cookware being toxic!!Another VERY important piece of advice.

Have his poops returned to normal yet? Runny poos could very well be from the stress of a new home, many go thru the same. But if it doesn't clear up soon please get him checked out by an Avian vet. Call your nearest vet and ask them where the closest AVIAN vet is located and get their number so you have it in case of emergency.
I think the frequent head scratching on a perch could be the start of a molt. Their heads get itchy and you may start to see what looks like little black spots on his head. These are the beginnings of pin feathers...new feathers.

Take it slow with the little guy/gal. Move slowly around him and talk to him lots and lots. Never try to force him on to your hand/finger. If he shies away, respect his feelings and back off. It's best to start by just letting him get used to your hand being in his cage, holding it very still maybe resting on a perch and talking to him softly.

Have fun with your new buddy. Let us know his name when ya decide on one. THAT can be a hard job. LOL

Oh and btw? About the "voice change"?
You will probably start to notice many different sounding. Happy/excited chirps... mad budgie sounds... distress call...calling to you...singing to music.. you'll pick up on them after you've had him for a while smile

Well her name is momo and she has black stripes all along her head except for a small portion above her cear. Its cere is also a very light blue so im positave it's a female. Thanks for all the information, helped me out a lot!

Ps: is it a good idea to get her wings clipped. I've heard it's really good if you do but I am not entirely sure If i should. Any suggestions?

simply said ...do not clip wings...this does not make them more friendly as so many think it makes them more fearful and forces them to accept human help NOTHING to do about trust...besides they are meant to fly to stay very healthy and as a means of escape from any sort of danger and if wings are clipped you face the possibility of internal injuries if the basically fall to hard to the floor then there is also very possible complications with developing a blood feather break when flight begin to grow back and you dont want that for sure for them or for you to have to face... smile

what color is this bird because if it still has its little bars going to cere the color is NOT to be used as a guide at that point to sex...it can and most often will begin to change a few times till maturity.

You may not be able to determine sex for a while yet. The little bars on the forehead above the cere are telling you this is a baby. The color of the cere at maturity will tell you the sex. The cere can change so now would not be a good time to determine sex.

If the cere is blue/purple color it will be a boy and if a white/tan color then you have a girl. After the first real moult the cere will take on a truer color and start indicating the sex. You will know soon.

to know with any sort of errrrrm confidence the birds mature at 8 mos...so no need to fret about it where it is only one bird the problems comes in having multiple birds and not knowing.. crazy

Right, I meant holding food in front of the bird while he/she eats it. Not using an eye dropper to poor food directly into it's beak the way you'd do with a baby or sick bird or something similar. Would you even be able to do that to a healthy adult bird? I imagine they'd run away, wondering what the heck you're trying to do...

Ok now I noticed he has grown these white little spikes all over his head. He seems to be angry latly and I'm thinking these might be causing it pain. Are they new feathers growing?
