Hey guys !
So I got a new baby budgie , she is very sweet - I've had her for about 2 months now and I'm just getting her hand tame now. She's not afraid of my hand but she wont step up if she's on her perch , instead she climbs the side her cage and when i say "up" she hops onto my finger I don't even have to coax her or touch her belly. Just wondering if this is normal ? When she steps off she goes back onto the cage and then to her perch. Its just odd , and I love the fact she's starting to trust me but I also dont want to get her into any bad habits. Advice ?

Welcome to the forum!

Every parakeet is different and has their own personal quirks. It's wonderful that she jumps onto your finger. That's all that matters. It's not a bad habit at all, it's just her fun way of doing things.

We'd love to see photos!
