yup..how much was your incubater? Did you also have a brooder? When you have an incubater, you got to have a brooder! When the babies hatch, they need a place to stay, because there's no nest, so the brooder keeps them warm and content between feedings. and your welcome! anytime.

What happened to the parents of Lemon?

Well, at the time, I had no room to keep them. I really wanted to but didn't want Lemon to breed with the mom or dad (didn't know sex at time) and i didn't think it would be fair to the parents to be in a tiny cage built not even for 1. and wanting to breed...it's hard to explain...

VERY hard to explain in full detail. but it was best.even though i still miss them, and have pix of them both up on my wall...

well the incubator cost about 72$ because it was the small one and lucky for me my farm grandpa lead it to me and they might have a cheaper one for 5o$ depending.Yea I got a brooder I guess I didn't know how to work it.

I answered yes to all the questions but the part about having someone around all the time will stop at the 2nd week of August. Let's say, hypothetically speaking, I would have the two birds mate. Maybe put them in a cage together in a week from now(for the first time because it would be with my best friends bird.) So, would that be enough time for them 2 get acquainted & lay the eggs? And does the father of the birds need to be in the cage when the baby birds hatch?

THAT is WAY WAY to little time to not be with them 24/7...the birds have to bond very well, for several months before attempting to mate. What I would do is either buy another keet of the opposite sex, and introduce slowly, and then put into same cage and watch if they fight at all. If the fighting gets bad..seperate for a few days, then together again. Will your best friend let the 2 be together for up to a year? That may be the time for them to get bonded and breed, and have a clutch. Yes, the father needs to be in the cage at all times. He helps out by feeding mommy, who feeds the babies.

Basically your saying you want to put two keets that don't even know ea/other together for a week and expect them to breed and have babies. That is deffinately NOT going to happen.

The whole reproducing keets process can take even up to a year...this is NOT a short process that lasts only a week.
