A half of this topis is bumps and you do NOT breed keets or any other living thing for fun or because it is cool. You have to be serious and dedicated to what you are doing. Think about it having the life of something in your hands. You got to know what you are doing. This is a great topis and I hope tons of people post on it. It definitly is helpful. Bump! lol

Thanks mellow...i sure do too hope it helps someone know a little bit more and maybe talk them out of what they are about to do...they could not be responsible enough, have enough $, time, space, or SOO many other things...i agree totally!!!
I have a question: I have seen fake parakeet eggs for sale online, and I heard if you put them in the parakeets nestbox and they haven't laid eggs that they will sit on the fake eggs and when they are taken away will lay more eggs, so the fake eggs can encourage breeding, is this true? Is it safe? It seems like it might encourage chornic egg laying.

Well, I have never used those...so I'm not sure if they're safe, or helpful...but i don't think that i would ever use them...i just let them be how they are...if the pair works, and they lay eggs, so be it...if not...i try another pair. I just think natural is the best way...and you may be right about the chronic egg laying...I wouldn't use those..but it's up to you!
I'm not going to use them, I saw it online and was just wondering if it was safe or true, and like you said i feel its better to just let the birds do what is natural.

weirdo4life: good choice lol
azumari: good luck with the 2! hopefully they'll be a successfull breeding pair! be patient! Timothy is sort of a green straw looking material, it is used for nesting material, and i have always used it, and all my breeding pairs loved it and used it. Bump is just something you say when you have nothing else to put, to keep the topic towards the top for everyone to see.
PM me or post here if u have any Q's or need help!!!
