I just saw the movie (DVD)...It is a good mystery, and despite the fact i am a reader and a writer...a writer has the power to turn clues into anything he/she dreams up. But it was obvious from mid point that SOPHIA was supposed to be the descendant of Jesus & Mary. So no surprise there. It would have been more interesting if they had mentioned the Chapter in REVELATIONS, where the Marriage of the Lamb is mentioned along with a SUPPER. Jesus has always been referred to as the Lamb Of GOD... But I'm speaking as a published writer who loves a mystery/thriller. This was a very good thriller.
I just saw the DVD, Great movie and Tom Hanks did a magnificent job as the side kick. As for playing a hero...? Couldn't understand why the dead guy expected Langdom to solve anything. Sophia solved most of the clues. I was a bit confused as to why Langdom hadn't figured out why everyone was trying to kill him and the girl...wasn't it obvious that she was the 'Holy Girl'. (Hey they should have used that as a Clue!!!) Also in Bible, in the Book of REVELATIONS, The Marriage of the Lamb was celebrated with a elaborate SUPPER. Imagine That?

Welcome TMarks.
I enjoyed the book, but wasn't impressed by what I saw of the film. I was really excited to buy it on DVD and it felt like a let-down. I haven't finished watching it, so maybe it improves, but I have no great desire to find out. Didn't expect Hanks to be a good Langdon and, so far, I think that I was right.
But we are all different that's what makes life interesting!

I have to say I absolutly LOVED the movie it was exzciting and a perfect pace I dont know about you but I thought that Langon fit exactly as the book and sophie lets not even ask that question. All the caracters look just like the descriptions in the book especially Teabing. I read the book after i watched the movie and even though there are differences thats what makes the movie better it dosent spoil the ending any which way whether you read the book first or see the movie first. And by the way I dont agree with some peple saying that Dan brown was direspectful at all. Those people should open up there mind and get out of there little box and maybe go get a tan I have done lots and lots a of reserch and have found the the main points of this story hav its truth of course the book has altered some real asspects in history but for the main part the plots are correct. It dose kinda seem like Holy Blood Holy Grail though but that just goes to show that all this could definantly be possible. I am Christian myself and am very open of the idea that Jesus had a wife (and a life)I understand that before this book there were many others so I guess you know what they say "when you can hear the river coming its because its dragging something" ( I hope you can understand this analogy)

Interesting thoughts we have within the feeling of the book, could the person in the painting of the Last Supper on the right of Christ be neither man or Mary Magdelene but one of Mary the mother of Christ the most trusted and bloodline of Christ, and could it be that they are pointing up to show us there was one more, the brother of Christ and that would make the number 14.not 13 in the Last Supper.Food for thought. http://www.lionardofromvinci.com/gallery2.html

We need to keep threads on topic. This one is about the film, but there is a thread on the matter you raise, here:
