I went to the cinema, yesterday, and I think it said it was due on screens on 19th May. (I'll have to double-check that.) Is it the same date everywhere?

I think so --that is the date that sticks in my mind for its release in the US.

Knowing me, though, I'll end up missing it in the cinemas, completely, and having to go out to get the DVD.

That's what I did with The X-Files. I loved that series and could not wait for the film, but somehow it just passed me by. I happened to see the video in the shops on its first day on the shelves and bought it - but even that was only by chance, if I remember correctly. Goodness knows what happened!

This time, though, I'll have everyone on here to remind me.

I have to say that Tom Hanks looks really bizarre in that haircut - I just saw the trailer and I kept thinking "A handsome Indiana Jones"??? He looked like a very creepy stalker or something to me ...

I don't agree that Langdon was solving most of the puzzles in the book, I think he was missing most of them

I love Tom Hanks... but I'm sorry to say, he's not a "Langdon" type to me.

I see him more as the murdered curator if anything.

Its out the 19th in Ireland too. I really hope I can see that day though as I have my last college summer exam the next day :{ . If not I'll definatly go see it after the exams!

Whats this about an A&D movie ? I think thats a great idea! I loved the book and was kind of hoping there'd be a movie. Any info available yet ?

Well--the movie had its first airing yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival--and it is not getting good reviews.

Hmmmm certainly seems to have got off to a frosty reception to say the least. I wonder how many of these critics are out to get Hanks back for his criticism of the critics, before the film was previewed at Cannes ?
Has any film that is strongly questioning religion, ever got a good reception?

Got my seats booked for Monday and will give my appraisal then.
