Hi Johnson04. You say that you 'have read the stories on this abomination of a book and movie'. Does that mean, then, that you have not read the book or seen the film? I think, if that's the case, it must be very difficult to call either an 'abomination'. Dan Brown is a Christian himself. I can't see why the Christians of this world consider it to be disrespectful. I'd be interested to know if you change your mind after seeing the film (or reading the novel). I'm going to add your comments to another thread, as this one is specifically about the Da Vinci Code 'movie'. It can be found here: http://www.wineintro.com/forum/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=000348#000000 Welcome to the forum.

Well sorry to dissapoint the critics but..... 5 of us went to see the movie on Sunday night. Only one had read the book, and that was me. All male, ages 18 x2, 21, 49 and 61. All open minded about religeon so that gives you an idea of our background. All 5 enjoyed the movie very much, were not at all bored, laughed at the humerous bits and I think we all would like to have had an adventure with Sophie Having read the book, all the scenes were just as I imagined them, and It kept me interested right through. Tom Hanks may not have been the strongest character in this, but then Langdon wasnt in the book as far as I am concerned, I thought he was very close to how Dan Brown portrayed him. The ending was good, the others with me liked the twist at the end. Granted its not a masterpiece, but I feel this movie has suffered from over hype and critics that have gone over the top, in their very harsh criticism. (conspiracy?) 8/10 from us, will watch it again when its out on DVD or on Sky TV

hi guys
I saw the movies twice and yes, I found it enjoyable so I watched it again. Personally I rate this movie as one of those movies which you ought to see in a year. The pace of the movie is just right, no or very little of moment of slow pace and the soundtrack really carries the movie along.
I saw the movie the first time with only the first few chapters I read of the book. If I am not wrong, only to the part in the museum where the male and female leads met. So when watching the movie til that part, it felt the adaption does remove some details e.g. the journey to the museum, to make the movie faster pace.
1 thing I noticed about the movie is at many moments, the actors were saying things which prevent the story to be too 'anti-christian' or biased towards a certain view. E.g. 1. when teabing was explaining the historical details to sophie, langdon will be there to contradict teabing 2. langdon telling sophie towards the end about believing what you believe and is there really a difference if Jesus was different from what we know.
Here said, we had heard news of protests towards this movie. I sincerely hope these people should see the movie themselves before judging it based on the 'book'. I believe Howards and company does deserved something out of this, adapting the juice of the book into the movie and at the same time, not offending anyone and allowing anyone to see for themselves
