My most beloved camera has decided to go on strike. After a year and a half of treating it nicely and not getting any scratches on it, it dies. Last week my little brother was bugging me, asking me if he could use my camera to take videos of him and my sister and being nice I let him use it. Bad idea because he dropped it and now it broke.

The warranty has expired on it and I really have no extra money to bring it to get fixed. So does anyone know if they could try and help me fix it? The lens is still out, and it won't turn on. If I press the power button it will show the Kodak logo and then turn off after two seconds. I tried taking the battery and memory card out, and I put a new battery in. I also tried charging it, but that didn't help either. Can anyone help me?

Hi

I had a digital compact, dropped it, and that was the end of that.

My cousin did something similar, and hers was fine,

But if yours stopped working, and you have tried changing batteries & the usual, then I'm guessing that it's over for that camera.

Sorry frown

But you never know; you may be lucky ~ good luck smile

similar problem - but there does not seem any solution.

If the fall has bent the camera's lens housing - then I think it is cheaper to buy a new camera than to get this repaired.

I suggest - take the camera to a local shop and explain the problem and see what they suggest - if they can repair, how much that would be - and then compare that with the cost of buying a new one.

Really feel sorry for you - I accidentally dropped my Lumix TZ5 - I am lucky that apart from dents and inability to close the lens cap, it seems to be working fine.

That was the first time I dropped any of my cameras (and I am taking pictures since 1986 . . .)

That really stinks that your camera is broken Kirb&Yosh frown
I doubt that it's fixable too.
Maybe you could ask for a new camera for Christmas (that is if you celebrate Xmas) It's not TOO far off.

I also had a kodak camera which broke during a tour and now I have bought a new one which have a lot of features, 3.0 TFT LCD, 2.3-megapixel CMOS image sensor, 36X Optical Zoom• Superior imagequality and many thing more, I must recommend this one to buy.

That thing is such a small/compact design that I doubt that most camera shops would even look at it. My 60d got dropped in September and we had to send it off to the factory so the optics could be realigned. If the pictures you take are blurred then be sure to check and make sure that the optics are not loose and also that carriage is extending out to its maximum.
