Georgian Red Wine Glass Photo
Wine Glassware in History
Georgian in this context means that the item was created between 1720 to 1800 - the reigns of King George I, II and III of England. This particular wine glass was dated to 1780. It features a gorgeous red color glass which has been engraved with grapes and vine images. The stem is knobbed.
It is about 3.5" high. Relatively small, it would have been used for dessert wines. This glass is in my personal collection if you wish to know more about it.
