Dandelion Winemaking 2000
Day 7.
Today was the day to move the wine from its ceramic bowl, where it'd been sitting, into a glass carboy to finish its fermentation.

You of course don't need a glass carboy for this step - anything with an airlock on it to let out the escaping air will do. Fermentation causes carbon dioxide to build up - if you simply seal the container, it'll build pressure up!

Here's the wine being poured into the carboy through a funnel. We considered using filter paper in the funnel, but it really slowed down the process. Plus, we figured medieval maidens wouldn't have had coffee filters lying around!

Again, you don't need a glass carboy, although they do work quite nicely and don't cost a whole lot of money. You simply need some sort of air-tight container with an airlock on it, to let out the air as the carbon dioxide is created within.

The final step in our recipe was to add in some golden raisins. They add body to the dandelion wine, but don't disturb its yellow color.
