October
Year Cycle of Seasons in a Vineyard

In October, only late harvest grapes would still be on the vines. For most wineries, the grapes are long since harvested and are now in fermentation tanks, bubbling away with yeast. The first stages of winemaking have begun, while the vines stand bare and alone.

Note: These months are for northern hemisphere wineries; in the southern hemisphere, add six months for the matching vineyard situation.
