One of the benefits of this glue is it is REALLY easy to put out onto the board. It is far easier than the super glue, that's for sure! After making the super glue trivet previously, this was a breeze. Just tip the bottle of high performance glue upside down and squeeze gently. That was it.
So first I folded the top and bottom ends down on the wood, to "hem" both ends. These were the ends which did NOT reach to the center line of the wood base. I pressed each down firmly to stay in place.
After that, I put another set of glue on the boards to fold down the two main flaps. These were the two sides which did meet in the middle. This area is going to be underneath the corks in the next step, so the corks will cover them up.
Once all of that was done, I put it under heavy books to let it sit overnight, to get the felt to flatten down into shape!
