Basics of Regional Sangria Recipes
Every region of the world - and every region of a country - has its own specific take on flavors and customs. This might be easily seen on a grand scale - Chinese food is very different from Mexican food. But even if you go area by area within China you'd be amazed at how much the different regions differ from each other in terms of food types, spices used, sauces, and more.
The same is true with Sangria. At its core, sangria is a mixture of wine, fruit and liqueur. Even just looking at fruits, different locations are very much known for different types of fruits! Hawaii is known for its pineapples. Georgia is known for its peaches. Michigan has world famous cherries. The list goes on and on. If you were to make a sangria with the best fruit that your specific region is known for, the richness of its flavor would probably far outshine the same sangria made halfway around the world, where they had to truck in frozen versions of your fruit.
The key with regional sangrias is often to enjoy them with matching food! If you make a delicious Italian sangria, mix up a plate of spaghetti and meatballs to eat with it. For a Mexican sangria, how about a burrito or nachos? The more you get the taste sensations to merge in an authentic manner, the more wonderfully the combinations meld!

Note: I created these sangria recipes and have had them online for years. If you find similar sangria recipes elsewhere, it's because someone copied my idea. I do appreciate it when visitors write in to warn me about the plagiarism - but usually there's not much I can do about it! What's really funny is when they copy my design right down to my sangria pitcher. That's a bit much :)
