It's almost Turkey time. What is everyone doing for the holiday? Are there specials foods that you prepare? I'm just having a small family dinner with the usual meal. Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, string beans, cranberry sauce and for dessert, various pies with ice cream.

My favorite part of the meal is waking up the next morning, and taking the cold turkey and dipping it into the juice of the cranberry sauce, then the gooey syrup from my sweet potatoes. This is followed by eating cold stuffing, then off to the mall.

We'll have thansgiving at our home, with Marge's Mom, who is staying with us for a while, and two of Marge's sisters and family. Marge's family is originally from upstate NY, but the sister who lives near us married a Southern guy (also) and she has learned to cook Southern style. She does greens very well, and does gravies really well.
So I'll get some Southern dishes. Marge loves the cornbread dressing that my family makes, but I don't think anyone is making it here. [We could get that if we went to my side of the family; but we'd have to travel to do that.] My family also does a to-die-for sweet potato souffle.

That reminds me, I need to buy a pecan pie. I'm a very good cook, but I don't have good eaters. Their idea of fine dining is take out. Pizza, chinese food, burgers and fries are what they like. Why bother with homemade cooking when they don't appreciate my efforts. I make a nice, homemade turkey, but I use Stove Top stuffing, Mrs Pauls Sweet Potatoes, canned cranberry sauce and I make a green bean casserole. Store bought pies as well. There's no way in heck that I would get to a mall at 4 or 5 in the morning. Ok, maybe for Wii Fit. I've yet to find it in any store. The only reason I would go to a mall at all is to get the heck out of the house and away from football and leftovers.

Yeah, Marge definitely rocks. Actually she can do it all! And she does the Hero pretty good. We both liked Mario.
When my grandsons in California had me play the video games with them, I figured out it was perfectly okay for me to be inept.
