Ok ... so Y's are tough ... lets see if this works:
Yield ... a measurement of how much wine is produced during a harvest.

Since one is already out I won't give another, but I can't believe that you folks think the letter "Y" is tough or a stumper, considering one of the most famed wines in the world begins with Y.
Thinking about it, "yield" as defined above does not work for me. I don't believe I have ever heard it used in this context.
I have heard of a harvest's yield defined as tons of grape (another cool term for that too) but I don't think I have ever heard it skipping the product of the harvest and going straight to the wine.
So come on. The wine I am thinking of has been described as able to make a dead man smile.

Wait a minute! Didnt you use that already? I was assuming no repeats allowed. Or maybe that didn't count ... since it was an example?
Now ... I probably shouldn't follow my own post ... but I could throw out "Dobbin Lane" ... a San Miguel CA vintner. Had a bottle of their cabernet sauvignon last week. I understand they use surplus harvest from growers through-out the CA central coast. As for the wine ... I'm still too much of a rookie, so dont have a basis to compare to yet. But I will say, while it seemed a little strong at first, but the end of the week it seemed to have grown smoother. Maybe I just adjusted to it. The Safeway wine steward had suggested it as a good value for the price. Think it was about $8 or $9.
