I love viognier in general (a fruity white wine) so I gravitated right towards this bottle of Penner-Ash Oregon Viognier 2007.

Buttery, creamy, with a very smooth mouth feel and a spicy melon / tangerine flavor. Nice lingering finish. Hints of cinnamon and ginger. Very nice.

14.5% alcohol - fairly high for a white!

Is the alcohol the only thing that is "fairly high for a white"?

IOW, what did this bottle set you back?

Funny enough, just the other day I was wondering if my local specialty shoppe had any more Condrieu in stock. They used to have a maker who I no longer remember for about $30. I think Guigal is around $50. They are really the only two I can recall seeing.
