If anyone can point me to where I can get another set of these glasses, you'd be helping to make someone VERY happy. (picture at: www.BobTaylorProductions.com/glasses)
They were originally purchased at TJ Maxx but as you likely know, TJ Maxx gets things once and then never again.
They must be available somewhere.
Please forward any info to : voiceover(at)roadrunner(dot)com
thanks in advance

I realize they're not exactly the same but a ribbed stem in green is very traditional for Germany, and many places sell those. Here's a random one I found on Google -

So you might do well finding a German set for the green ones.

Those are what's known as hock glasses, Lisa. I have a very similar set (except mine certainly didn't cost $70)

IMO, it is a fool's errand to attempt to find at retail some ordinary product one found at a discounter in the past. By ordinary I mean generally unidentified and unidentifiable. the kind of glasses I own. Somebody made them, but who did I have not a clue, not since the packaging was thrown away (and maybe not even then).

Even though I make fun of people who know the specific glass they drink wine from ('the Riedel K3000 Bordeaux for full-lipped persons'), those are the glasses one can search for at retail later.

'Some gray glasses with a trojan stem made by somebody' are best sought out at flea markets.

The other place to try is not at wine sites but at glassware collectors/hobbyist sites.

I will not be forwarding this response. You posted your question at a discussion forum. The generally accepted behavior is that you come back and look for answers.

I can see both sides of this. I agree with Brom that it's usually impossible to find exactly glass X just as it'd be challenging to find a replacement for lamp X that someone made. Their value is probably personal, not related to the specific glass shape.

That being said, I also understand when people *try* to find something. They are really attached to it and maybe the old one broke. Maybe something was stolen and had great emotional meaning to a grandmother and they want to get her something similar. It's hard to say to that person "It won't be the same, you know, this is just a replica of what you treasured." Logically it might be true but emotionally it might help close a wound.

You'll note that in my new kinder gentler approach, while I did say it was foolish to spend time looking for such an item, i also did suggest two different arenas where a search might be better rewarded.
