It's always an adventure when you open a 13 year old bottle of wine. Is it still any good? Has it been corked all this time? Natural cork, 13.5% alcohol. It's the Livermore valley reserve.
We were pleasantly surprised that it had indeed done very well. Lovely berry aroma. Plummy flavors. A nice complexity with more than a hint of leather. Gorgeous long finish.
Just what I needed at the end of a very long week.

I have always been pleased with the results produced by Concannon (though I've not had any aged as long as this). They appear to have the right mix of climate, grounds, fruit and process to bring forth memorable taste experiences.
