It's been a long week - I'm relaxing with Ferrari Carano Chardonnay 2006.
From the Russian River Valley, natural cork closure, 14.3% alcohol.
It's delicious, complex, pear, apple, honey, citrus, a nice treat. Long finish.
My wine shop had it for $44.99. I see it was online for less at places which are now sold out of it, so that's a mixed bag. I could have gotten it for less if I'd bought earlier, but having waited until now, it's the price it is.
Interestingly, I went into the shop for my typical comfort wine, Conundrum. I decided to give this a shot instead even though it cost more. While this is certainly complex and lively and very nice, it's not as "comfort wine" to me as the Conundrum is. The conundrum is soft and round and melony. So I do enjoy this a lot, but it's not the potato-pancakes-and-pirogies of my life
