To celebrate our wine forum upgrade, I'm running a series of fun trivia contests! I'll be giving away a variety of things. This giveaway is for a copy of the book "The Merlot Murders" written by Ellen Crosby! The legalese: The first person to answer THREE trivia questions correctly will win the prize. This contest is open to anyone living in the US or UK who is aged 18 or older. Only posts that are unedited will be accepted as answers. Prize will be shipped to the winner at no cost to the winner. The prize will be the above described book. For complete rules, please visit http://www.wineintro.com/about/forum/contests.htmlThat URL also explains why you have to be 18 or older, and why I can only offer this to people in the US or UK. Question 1 - What kind of a tree is cork the bark of?

Appropriate to the American football season, the dent is known as a "punt".

Brom - I'm so sorry, but our rules are here - http://www.wineintro.com/about/forum/contests.htmlThey state - "An individual who wins a prize must wait 90 days before becoming eligible to win another prize." Since you just won a book, I'm afraid you need to wait a little wine before winning another one! In the meantime don't forget to send me a private message (PM) with your address so I can send you out your prize!

Oh no, Lisa, you misunderstand. I don't want to win another prize, I want to make it harder for you by spreading out the winning answers among several participants.
Already paid off - the answer to your new question is rather more obscure than "What grape is used in Alsace Riesling?"
Can't have you getting a winner with only 5 questions.
Many don't know this, but in those lost and unrecorded years between his youth and maturity, Jesus Christ was quite the popular party guest. He first turned water into wine when he was 14, at the bar mitzvah of his boyhood chum, Moshe "Zits" Greenbaum, who years later ended up as Joseph of Arimethea's accountant.
