Testing out a wine bottle chilling device - in essence a block of concrete that's been in the freezer for a long while. Will it work?

So it is not only bulky but heavy too...

The plastic chiller sleeves filled with that freezer gel are light, small because they fold flat, cheap and very effective.

All the restaurants we went to in Portugal used them for their white wines ... Vinho Verde at lunchtime ummmm...

Right I have a freezer-capable plastic sleeve too and I'll test that for comparison next.

Right now I'm testing out this large concrete thing. I'll post a photo soon!

I'm doing a second test run with a red wine. The plastic ice cubes are still easily winning out.
