Lenz Winery

The Lenz winery is one of the most famous wineries on Long Island, and winemaker Eric Fry is something of a legend. He is a microbiologist by training, and spends a great deal of time ensuring that the pH of his wines will naturally prevent infection while providing the best possible flavor. He goes as far as fermenting different portions of the same grape juice in different manners, and then blending the results back together in a proportion to bring out the most complex flavors possible.

We visited Lenz twice in the past few years, and each visit was a great! This is definitely a winery that creates high end, complex wines with hand crafted care.
