Sakonnet Winery

The Sakonnet Winery is a perfect day trip if you end up anywhere in the range of Boston, Providence or Newport. This is the largest winery in all of New England. The general area around Sakonnet has picture-perfect coastlines with boats and seagulls. When you get to the winery, you have a long, windy dirt driveway that snakes around trees and sculptures before it gets to the winery itself. The winery building is surrounded by rows and rows of vineyards.

The tasting room is very nicely laid out, and their hourly tour includes a short but interesting video presentation. It's well worth a trip to see how a winery works!
