Arizona Wine Shipping Laws

Arizona is very hot to be making wine. Does anybody know of any wineries in Arizona?

As of June 1, 2006, governor Janet Napolitano signed in legislation so that people in Arizona could finally get in shipments from wineries! Hurrah! The down side is that it has to be a relatively SMALL winery. It has to produce 20,000 gallons or less a year. If you want to buy from a winery that is larger than that, you have to physically go to that winery and make th order in person.

Their logic is that large wineries should already be in stores so you can buy from them. Smaller wineries might not be in stores, so you should have the chance to order their products without flying out to their location in person.

Note that the winery still has to apply for an Arizona winery license (even though they are not located in Arizona!!) and of course pay sales tax (which does make some sense).

Let me know if you have any fresh information about Arizona wine shipping laws! If you have recently had wine shipped in to you here, please let me know how smoothly the experience went. Often the laws say one thing, but FedEx and UPS say another!
