I posted this in the parakeet forum but am putting it here as I thought others might be interested.

Friends, FB is at it again...violating your personal information: As of today, there is a new privacy setting called "Instant Personalization" that shares data with non-facebook websites and it is automatically set to "Allow." Go to Account > Privacy Settings > Applications and Websites and uncheck "Allow". Tell your friends.

Kathy

I didn't know it was automatically set to allow! I saw something about that but I did not do it. I will have to look into this. Thanks Kathy

I thought of you when I read this! Its fine to give you the option if that's what you want, but they shouldn't automatically set it for you. Grrrrr.....

I appreciate it Kathy. I love FB, but lately I'm trying to be a little more careful and not click on links. There's been some weird things my computer did when going to links, actually , on here too! i clicked on a link about growing millet, from Iboutore, (remember her?) and it took me a long time to even get OFF that link, then I kept getting kicked off line every minute. It took me half an hour, just to get back here to the forum! IDK.

There's more and more people on FB now. Of course I guess that's normal. But I don't even go to MySpace any more, because it takes my computer forever to do each and every thing. Somehow my computer does not like My Space!

I can't believe they would just assume it would be ok with anyone to allow this!? Thanks for the heads up!

Wow...

Honestly, I usually ignore stuff like this. I know a lot of overly paranoid politically active people so when I saw the article on FB I just chalked it up to more hysteria and "the gov't stealing our privacy" garbage.

But when I actually went and saw that box automatically set to allow? I was mad. Me! The person who accesses my bank account at school, in public areas discuss my credit report...I mean I usually don't give a hoot about being overly protective. And this ticked me off!

So...

Thank you!!

Such Information on which helps me! Thanks a lot for the details. Well I also have a website and now I want to promote it on Facebook using the paid ad technique. It is not easy for me to run the ads on my own so just looking for the reasonably priced facebook ads services. Can you help me regarding it?
