Kacey, I've got an entire page on that here -

http://www.lisashea.com/petinfo/recipes/onlyseed.html

remember, one at a time and be slow with it. Parakeets are very smart and need to learn to trust on their own schedule.

BudgieJumper - we talk about kibble in other threads but it is normally healthier for living creatures to get their nutrients naturally vs from chemical goo shaped into squares smile So if you are feeding your parakeet a healthy mix of foods -

http://www.lisashea.com/petinfo/recipes/healthyfood.html

then that is the best way for them to live. Also, it is far more tasty. Think of yourself. You eat a variety of foods right now. Would you be happy if all you ate every day was colored goo?

Cracked me up! When I was in school there were some things that I considered colored goo! Yuk! I have never even considered pellets, always used seed and millet, veggies, fruit, and now thanks to this site my bird will have a wide world of things to try now and then. wink -Scott
