Hey every one! So, how many of you have playgyms for your keet(s)? Do they use it and like it? Is it hard to make? I plan on building one this week or so and I wanted to know if any of you had tips. I looked at Lisa's pictures and I saw she used a hampster wheel which I thought was very creative. any other ideas??
THANKS!!!! wink

Okey Doke! laugh It was in the loving memory of my amazon parrot Nickodemous that passed away. Here goes......

No matter the shape, no matter the size,
Just like an eagle, you'll soar through the skies.

No matter the beak, no matter the wings,
Your song is as beautiful as a bluebird sings.

No matter the shape, no matter the size,
You'll always be beautiful in God's eyes.

Hmnmmmmmm, let's see, I think I wrote it a year or more ago. Since then I have progressed alot in my writing smile

Has anyone ever bought one of the handmade Lisa Shea bird toys??? They seem really nice and I was thinking of getting one or two.

Yes I have a ton of info on making your own homemade toys and they are VERY cheap to make, so I highly advise trying that! You can use cheerios, paper towel rolls, and then go to your local craft store and get hemp twine and little wooden *untreated* beads. You can make all sorts of cool toys and rotate a new toy set in every month, for hardly any money smile

Ahhh, yes, that page with the play gym I posted. Well, last week the administrator of that message board announced that it would be shut down. And now it's closed. So, I don't have a link to that picture anymore. However, it was made with something like this:

Clicky here for WalMart site

Set it up however you want, and you use the wires to hook up rope perches, toys, whatever just like you do in the cage. That's pretty much what the picture looked like that someone had posted on the other board. Is that enough info?

if you go to a bird specialty shop (mine is birds unlimited http://www.birdsunltd.com/ ) you can look at some of the toys and make them yourself for about 3-4 dollars less. all most of them are, are keychain hooks with a wire down it, or leather straps, with beads and popsicle sticks or clothespins. it's really east *and fun* to make them yourself.
