I enjoy learning about wine, and the best way to experience new wines is to go to the many wine dinners held around the world. You can often talk with the winemaker about how they created their wine, and learn what makes the flavors and characteristics unique. You get to try wines you've never heard of, and find out for yourself what you like and dislike about wine types.
Many wine shops hold free tasting events. Go to them! Learn for yourself what you like and dislike. No other person can tell you what you will enjoy by some mysterious numerical rating.
